An Eventful March…

March 2020 was one for the history books with a rollercoaster of ups and downs. We learned in early March due to COVID-19 our wonderful friends, Annie and Keith’s 🌵 wedding in Arizona was postponed along with our multi-state adventure. Our hearts ached for them having to push back their nuptials. In these crazy and uncertain times, we wanted nothing more than to be close with friends and family. We sent a “quarantine” care package to our buddies with games activities and toys for their pups 🐶 to try to help lift their spirits. We are so excited for these two amazing humans to tie the knot. We are looking forward to celebrating them together once it is safe to do so.

Nate picked up a second job at the local grocery store in Palouse and Jaide continued to work in Pullman. We were both thankful for steady work to help create a cocoon of normalcy during the pandemic. We closed the virtual doors of Palouse Ono Hale by blocking off the Airbnb calendar through 2020. We decided to switch gears by kickstarting some home improvement projects in the downstairs space.

With our trip to Arizona canceled, and knowing we would spend more time at home, we decided to adopt a puppy. After Jaide convinced Nate of this idea, she quickly found an ad for a Border Collie puppy on Craigslist Friday evening, and promptly made an appointment to pick one up on Saturday, 3/21. Jaide picked the puppy from the litter so it was only fair for Nate to name him. Of course he quickly chose the SpaceX themed named of Elon. (Side note from Jaide: When Elon is up to mischief, Nate commonly says to Elon, “That’s not CEO behavior” and it cracks me up every time.)

Since getting a puppy was very much a spur of the moment thing we made a much needed run to Moscow for puppy supplies. On the way home, Nate pulled over under the assumption he was stopping at Humble Burger to get a milkshake. Nate parked the pickup on the main road in downtown Moscow then encouraged Jaide to get out of the car, which she did reluctantly. This was at the spot/bench where we both met for the first time and Nate felt it an appropriate place and time to propose! Jaide was stunned and quickly said yes!
